Susan D.'s Story

Life Most of you knew me as, Edith Susan Dodson...aka, Susan Dodson Baughn, after marrying Tim J. Baughn, in high school in 1971. Tim & I had two children, Mark & Angie...then, divorced in 1976. I worked at Atlanta Medical & Dental college for a while, then, into banking, as a teller. I later married, had two more children, Scott & David Dale. After a 5 year marriage, divorced, again. Then, I met Larry S. Wiseman, a member in my church. We wed in 1985, and, have been married almost 23 years, now. The children were all raised in Christian school, and, are now grown. Our daughter, Angie...is married, just had our first granddaughter in March '08. Mark, doesn't have anything to do with us, he left home to live with Tim, when he was 15. Our middle son, Scott Dale, graduated 2005, from Georgia Southern with a degree in IT. Our youngest son, SPC David Dale...was an M1A2 Tanker in the Army, deployed to Iraq, wounded in May '07, now returned to private life. Since, high school...my kids...have been my life, with little time for myself, along the way. My lifelong dreams included a piano, a horse, a farm and, lots of kids. Well, the kids came, couldn't afford a piano, and, it's just about impossible to have a horse on my little 1/3 of an acre. It's been a wonderful life, full of God....and, the blessings that children have brought...alas, along with that, came much heartache. I finally was given an old upright piano, at the age of 28....but, had forgotten all I'd learned in the 6 months of lessons I recieved at the age of 14. Out of necessity, I began to "Piddle", as I call it...to have something to play. Then, I discovered I had a "gift" from God..."My Gift of Song"... the title of my upcoming book detailing the last 7 years of my life, as God turned simple songs from this soldier's mom's heart, into a Full-Time Music Ministry to our Veterans & Troops. In 1992, I was able to buy a "better" upright piano...Then, in 1997, I was privileged to purchase an incredible keyboard. Since getting my first piano, I've written songs over 200, for just about everything I've been through in my life, the people I've loved, my children, and, many others who've inspired me along the way. Then, in 2001, 9/11 happened, I wrote a song called, "God Will Prevail - The Victim's Anthem"...and, put it on the internet, as a gift of condolences to the families & nation. People began asking for more of my music, so, some love songs went up, then, new songs that came along...many of which, were Patriotic Tribute songs, leading to me being referred to, as, "The Tribute Lady"....to which, I'm EXTREMELY honored to be known as. What started as an internet music ministry, with one song of condolence...God has catapaulted into a Full-Time Music Ministry, ...Expand for more

Many of my songs were inspired by the loving memory of my cousin, as well as, many inspired by our youngest son's service, too. My music is the Soundtrack for the upcoming movie, " A Wall As Witness " ... a movie about The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall " in D. C. ... Fall 2008 Release. AWallAsWitness that " com " thing. I was extremely honored & blessed! Prior to devoting my life to my music ministry, back in 1994, I became interested in fish ponds, built my first pond...that, began a 12 year "addiction/affliction" to "Butterfly Koi Fish". For ten years, I served in the Atlanta Koi Club. So, just when I was ready to "enjoy" a quiet life, enjoying my ponds & fish..."God, had another plan", being obedient to His calling...I/we sing, perform, volunteer, by request all across this nation. Larry & I have devoted our entire lives, time, talent & efforts to support our nation's HEROES whenever asked. I am now the Ga. State Asst. Director & a National Coordinator of " Bugles Across America", an organization of nearly 6,000 volunteers who provide LIVE Taps for our Veterans & Fallen. BAAvolunteers that "org" thing on the web. My husband Larry, also serves as a National Coordinator as well as, Ga. State Director of "Bugles Across America"...Larry works for Delta, but, also had a 20 year professional career as a Trumpet Musician ... performing for numerous name acts .... he now works exclusively for "muah"... but, everything we do is volunteer, so, no pay, ha, ha! I'd love to hear from alot of you, about your lives & talk over old times. God Bless, In HIS service "Only for HIM!" Susan D.
